Toward the realization of Vision 2020, the Government has found it necessary to develop National and Sectoral policies, strategies and programs to close gaps between “where we are” and “where we should be” as a developed country by the year 2020. Given the quantum leaps that are required in all areas, it is necessary to carefully prioritize for each area a matrix of activities and a timetable of interventions and budgetary allocations. The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has as its primary development goal; “Vision 2020”. This is a vision for the economic, social and political development of our country, whereby Trinidad & Tobago will attain developed country status by the year 2020.
