Retraining Trainees benefit from Caribbean Vocational Qualifications
The Retraining programme will be continuing its implementation of Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs) during its Cycle 20 in Trinidad which was launched on June 4th.The Cycle features 16 skill areas in 26 classes. The programme launched its implementation of CVQs in its Cycle 19 in Tobago , which began in October 2008. The graduation for this cycle will be held in August of this year. Thirteen classes in 10 skill areas will be represented
The National Training Agency (NTA) implements CVQs which are aimed to develop the ideal Caribbean worker. It is an award that represents the achievement of a set of competencies that define the core work practices of an occupational area consistent with the levels articulated within the regional qualification framework.”
The CVQ is proof of competency with regard to Regional Occupational Standards. It is a portable qualification which is recognised in CARICOM countries as well as around the world.
