TTHTI LAUNCHES THE BSC. IN CULINARY MANAGEMENT FIRST OF ITS KIND IN T&T
On June 3rd, 2009, the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI) officially launched its Bachelor’s in Culinary Management which is the first programme of its kind to be offered in Trinidad and Tobago.
Speakers at the launch included Mr. William Aguiton, Chairman, Board of Governors (TTHTI); Mrs. Patricia Butcher, Executive Director (TTHTI); Mr. Kevin Kenny, President, Trinidad Hotels, Restaurant and Tourism Association (THRTA); Dr. Ellis Burris, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education and Mr. Raphael Medina, Culinary Head (TTHTI).
The Bachelor’s degree is a four year degree offered at TTHTI’s Chaguaramas campus and aims to develop persons knowledgeable and skilled in the performance of complex, non routine culinary work with responsibility for the work of others and the management of resources in the hospitality industry
Students will gain a greater appreciation for the culinary field as they undergo a wide range of courses.

- Butchery Culinary French
- Garde Manger
- Culinary Arts I and II
- Organizational Management
- Baking I and II
- Quantity Food Production
- Wine Education
- International Cuisine
- Professional Food Writing and Marketing
- Classical/Nouvelle Cuisine
- Kitchen Management
- Purchasing and Cost Control
The first class of Bsc. students is currently made up of sixteen individuals all of whom have already achieved an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Management from TTHTI.
