NIHERST and the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in India are collaborating to host one of India’s top science and technology exhibitions “India: A Culture of Science” from 22nd May – 20th July 2012 at the Divali Nagar, Chaguanas. This large-scale exhibition covers 7000 years of India’s history and the diverse contribution that country has made to global scientific understanding and technological progress. Admission is free. As part of this exhibition, we will be staging a public lecture series on science and technology. We are pleased to invite you to the third lecture entitled, “India: A Culture of Mathematics and Science” which will be delivered by Dr Indra Haraksingh, Lecturer, Department of Physics at The University of the West Indies. Dr Haraksingh will explore not only India’s history of mathematics and science but also its particular contribution to the development of renewable energy.
